Here the focus of David is on forgiveness, indeed blessed is the one whose transgression, iniquity, and rebellion is forgiven. Indeed God is a “hiding place”, a safe place in a troubled world.

This most well known of all the Psalms presents God as both a shepherd and a host. By shepherd is meant being a pastor, a teacher, a feeder, a protector of sheep, and we Christians as spoken of in Scripture as sheep. Then host, this is the great king who gives a grand banquet and lavishly provides for his guests.
